Vithya Ramraj, a 39-year-old record holder in the 400 meter hurdle meet

At the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru in the 63rd National Open Athletics Championships, Vithya Ramraj created history by breaking a record that had stood unbeaten for as many as 39 years in women's 400-meter hurdles. She finished the race in 56.23 seconds, setting a new record and breaking P.T Usha's earlier mark of 1985 (56.80sec).
