Union Cabinet approves (Vigyan Dhara) scheme

A new central sector program called "Vigyan Dhara" has been approved by the Union Cabinet under Prime Minister Narendra Modi) in September 2015, to subsume three major programs. As per the 15th Finance Commission, during 2021–22 and 2025-26, Rs.10,579.84 crore is to be allocated for this plan

  • Science and Technology Institution — Human Capacity Building:Develops skilled personnel 
  • Research and Development: Help them grow from a research standpoint by funding key R&D projects.
  • Innovation, Technology Development and Deployment : Develop new technologies and enhance India's tech capabilities.
