Air Chief Marshal AP Singh Becomes Chief of IAF (CAS)

The Indian Air Force's (IAF) Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) is now Air Chief Marshal AP Singh. This significant occasion was held at Air Headquarters (Vayu Bhawan). He will lead the IAF into a new era in his new position, giving the force direction and leadership.

Career and Accomplishments of AP Singh

  • AP Singh is a 1984 batch officer of the fighter aircraft stream in IAF.
  • He is a Qualified Flying Instructor as well as an Experimental Test Pilot.
  • He has over 5000 hours of flying experience on numerous aircraft and carried out MiG-27 squadron.
  • Key projects: MiG-29 Upgrade Project, Moscow Russia and Flight Test of Tejas at National Flight Test Center 
  • Prior to anti-terrorist operations, he has performed various roles such as Air Defence Commander at South Western Air Command and Senior Staff officer in Eastern air command.
  • Two major Awards : PVSM (Param Vishisht Seva Medal) and AVSM(Ati vishist seva medal).
  • Under the new Chief of Air Staff, Singh has said his vision was to enhance IAF combat capability and focus on supportive & mentoring people.
