Ancient Arts Festival A Celebration of Healing

The Ancient Arts Festival and Symposium, which was the 8th edition, was on 8th November 2024. The Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, or IGNCA, functioned as the venue the drama was staged. It is an event that was co-organized by the Rays of Wisdom Society and backed up by the Indian Ministry of Culture. This event demonstrated that those things could mix and there could definitely be spirituality, art, and healing.

Festival Review and Conference Directions

  • There was an exhibition commonly termed as ‘Metaphysical, Symbolic, and Healing Themes in Visual Arts, which displayed philosophy and healing interventions.
  • Devoted to the conference ‘Art as Religion as Healing,’ where the participants cast light upon the aptitudes of the old arts.
  • The program's special events included ‘Antar Yatra’ by Dr. Reela Hota, a vocal recital by Shri Shrinivas Joshi, and Kuchipudi dance by Smt. Yamini Reddy.
  • Some of the special invitees present were Amita Sarabhai, Shri V. Srinivas, and Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi.
  • Topics for discussions held were ‘Art and Conflict,’ ‘Healing in Baul Tradition,’ ‘Odissi and the Principles,’ and ‘Drama Movement and Healing.’.
  • Keynote address by Dr. Madhu Khanna & Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi.
  • The celebration of the festival was made to show how cultural sites can be relevant in today’s modern world where art is created.
