Exercise Eastern Bridge VII

The Exercise Eastern Bridge VII would also include joint military training between the Indian Air Force (IAF) and Royal Air Force Oman. The collaboration was carried out at the RAFO airfield in Masirah, Oman. As soon as the exercise was completed successfully Oman and India became even more prepared militarily for any future eventualities, thereby fostering a better relationship between them.

EXERCISE OBJECTIVES AND PARTICIPANTSVII.REACT TO EASTERN BRIDGE VII

• It was intended to further military co-operation between India and Oman by undertaking joint air operations in a realistic combat environment.
• It required air operations consisting of aircraft from both countries and provided a platform for tactical exchange, enabling the pilots to observe each other's operational capabilities.
• Training missions involved air-to-air combat drills, combined operations and special mission(scenarios.
• The exercise was a strong testament of both nations' commitment to regional peace and security.

On the Indian Air Force (IAF)

• Fourth largest air force in the world, established on 1932.
• An active participant in 1965 and the 1971 Indo-Pak wars, known for humanitarian missions & disaster relief ops.

The Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO)

• Established back in 1959 making it one of the oldest Air Forces all over Middle East.
• Helicopters, fighter jets and transport planes — mostly from the UK.
• Training and Allied UK USA Airforces
