Odisha Subhadra program

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has turned 74 years old and celebrating his birthday, Odisha government have announced the launch of a new scheme called Subhadra Yojana. The aim is to give women on benefits in the state money. The women will receive ?10,000 a year which can be used to help them with their basic necessity.

Subhadra Yojana Overview

• Launched by Odisha government to mark the 74th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
• Objective: To provide financial support for women between 21-60 years of age who are economically deprived.
• ?10,000 per year to eligible women for fulfilling their basis necessities.
• 1 crore women (10 million) to be benefitted from the program over next 5 years.
• Money in two instalments every year — ?5,000 on Rakhi Purnima and ?5,000 on International Women's day.
• The sum is directly transferred into the account of women through their Aadhaar-linked bank account.
• 5 million women have registered for the scheme.
• The government announced ?55,825 crore of the total budget outlay for 5 years to reach this scheme.
