The informal Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, or Quad, includes the U.S., Australia, Japan and India. The primary aim of this alliance is ensuring free and open access not only to the seas, but also to the common areas of professional—especially for other nations in Indo-Pacific travelling through terrestrial channels as well as for trading. Established in 2007, the Quad was restructured two years ago to take on issues of mutual concern relevant both locally and globally as China streghtned its hold. The commission was created in June 2007.

- Cybersecurity-- Boosts digital security in the Indo-Pacific, particularly safeguarding critical infrastructure;
- Some of these financing barometers maintain health security (health system strengthening, responses to global health threats)
- Infrastructure Development takes care of the construction of world-class infrastructures in the area.
- Space Cooperation: Shares satellite data for monitoring climate risks and safety in use of space.
