Banjara Virasat Nagara Museum Opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently launched the Banjara Virasat 'Nagara' Museum in Pohradevi, which is in Maharashtra's Washim district. Pohradevi is often referred to as the "Kashi of the Banjara Community" because of this museum's dedication to showcasing the rich cultural legacy of the Banjara people.

  • 4 storey building consisting 13 galleries on Banjara history, traditions and culture.
  • Showcases local arts and crafts and the lifestyle of the community.
  • Pohradevi, pilgramage of tomb of Sant Sewalal Maharaj & shrine of Ramraobapu Maharaj.
  • All Banjara samaj is accessible through modern facilities and exhibits.
  • One of the points of the comprehensive policy by Guardian Minister Sanjay Rathod, to conserve the Banjara culture and build a tourism potential around it.
  • Inauguration ceremony included Governor and Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Prime Minister Modi, and visiting Jagdamba Temple
  • Serving as an educational resource and tourist attraction, preserving the heritage of the community.
