Chief Science Advisers Roundtable September 5th, 2024 Paris

That happening is the 2024 Chief Science Advisers' Roundtable (CSAR), which will be taking place on September 6, in Paris at UNESCO Headquarters. Endorsed by The Natural Sciences Sector of UNESCO and the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to Overcome Coronavirus Pandemic, Government Of India. This roundtable hosts top scientific advisers from around the world to discuss and improve global science policy.

CSAR: A World Conference of Science Advice

• Scientific International Research Advisory (SIRA): CSAR was initiated during the India G20 Presidency in 2023 to deepen international frameworks related scientific advice.
• Delegations from 28 countries and six international organizations, headed by Chief Science Advisers (CSA) •
• 2024 CSAR theme: Fostering open science, bridging knowledge asymmetry and building science advice capacity globally.
• Key figures co-chairing the event include Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to India and Lidia Brito, UNESCO Assistant Director General for Natural Sciences.
• A knowledge session at the event will be held on Science Advisory Systems and how they can generate trust in science.
