India-Ukraine Joint Statement on the Visit of Prime Minister of India to Ukraine

  India-Ukraine Relationship Enhancement
      • Signing four key agreements.
      • Focuses on defense, trade, medicine, green energy, education.

Bilateral Talks:

  • India, Ukraine want to upgrade general partnership to strategic alliance.
  • There was a focus on bilateral ties and there were no events related to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Defence Cooperation:

  •  Both leaders aimed to develop more coordination in defence, including partnerships for producing India-made military hardware.
  • The India-Ukraine inter-governmental commission was also given fresh responsibility of boosting trade.

Sectoral Agreements:

  • The deals range from agriculture, the food industry and medicine to culture and humanitarian aid.
  • The two countries endeavour to deepen exchanges in commerce, agriculture and medicine.
  • More education partnerships – coordination of educational credentials, and establishment / operationalisation of higher ed institutions branches

3- Global Security and Terrorism:

  • The two countries also voiced their condemnation of terrorism and made a plea for the reform in the United Nations Security Council.
  • Both countries announced that are joining forces across sectors to fuel shared prosperity and security.
