The programme announced by Karnataka education and literacy minister Madhu Bangarappa includes an AI-powered digital application "Shiksha Copilot. This technology aims to improve government school system the by helping instructors and students to achieve better academic outcomes. Developed jointly with Microsoft Research India, the Sikshana Foundation.
Shiksha Copilot——A New Tool for Personalized Teaching
- Shiksha Copilot brings automation to teaching by helping teachers plan lessons and over 50 different resources (including activity videos, etc.).
- It generates comprehensive learning materials through Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI Service.
- Different media types can be used within the tool, which makes learning more interactive.
- It will cater to teachers of Classes 5 to 10 in Mathematics, Science, English and Social Science for the first phase totalling up to 1,000 teachers across Karnataka.
- Taleemabad is the answer to teacher's problems by relieving them from the extra burden of lesson planning and emphasizing on student-centric learning instead.
- Web portal - It is easy to use, and provides 2 types of chatbot modes for lessons, answering quick questions related to lesson as well as general education.
