Nepal's Urmila Chaudhary was the recipient of the Global Anti-Racism Championship. The Secretary of State, Antony J. Blinken, gave this esteemed prize. It honors six leaders for their courage and dedication to human rights and racial fairness. Urmila Chaudhary — Anti-Modern Slavery Advocate and Labor Activist

  • Urmila Chaudhary, an abolitionist and labour activist as well, was freed from slavery at the age of 17.
  • Involved in the establishment of the Freed Kamlari Development Forum which works with former bonded laborers.

  • Kamlari system was found in the Western Terai region of Nepal.
