AI and Meta Partnership

AI and Meta disclosed a significant partnership. At IIT Jodhpur, the Center for Generative AI, Srijan (????), was established. In India, this project seeks to promote open-source artificial intelligence (AI). AICTE, the All India Council for Technical Education, is a partner in the YuvAi Initiative for Skill and Capacity Building. The emphasis is on improving talent development and creating domestic AI applications.

India-Meta AI Collaboration: Objectives and Significance

• It wants to support India’s AI mission for preserving technology independence and establishing purpose-built AI solutions.
• Meta will help fund the setup of the Center for Generative AI, Srijan, in IIT Jodhpur, which will foster open science innovation towards the positive and proper advancement of artificial intelligence.
• Education and capacity enhancement for AI skills is another area catered to by this initiative, as well as policy-covered advisory for ethical applications.
• Emphasizing the relevance of the collaboration for the development of AI technology and the creation of a responsible approach to deploying AI solutions—Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology Shri S. Krishnan.
• This aligns with the government’s dream of making India a $5 trillion economy and the top AI nation across the globe.
• It is expected that the establishment of the GenAI CoE will foster new innovations and the development of new open-source AI, making India a preferred AI innovation hub.
