The GEO-7 report is being drafted by hundreds of scientists in a significant worldwide effort. The goal of this United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) program is to solve important environmental issues. At the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7) in December 2025, the seventh edition of the Global Environment Outlook (GEO) will be released.
GEO-7 Overview
- Thorough analysis of environmental science, contained in 21 chapters.
- Addresses interaction of environmental issues with other sectors.
- Is more oriented towards solutions, as they show ways to get there and future scenarios for 2050 and 2100 perspectives.
- Draws in policymakers and stakeholders, and the Intergovernmental and Multi-stakeholder Advisory Group is responsible for the report.
- More than 315 scientists globally writing this report and member states recommending expertise to finish the paper.
- Develops an overall abstract as a brief summary for the top management from which the whole report can be best understood and best managed.
- Proposed strategy of reaching out to a wider audience through the internet, including social media.
- Focus on policy evolution within the next several years, considering future effects on the environment.
- Proposed at UNEA-7 in December 2025, focusing on offering a coherent conceptual model with which to identify and respond to global environmental issues.
