South Korean novelist Han Kang won the 2024 Nobel Prize in Literature for her strong and reflective works that further emphasized the fragility of humans when looking back on past tragedies. The announcement was made on October 10, 2024 alongside a prize of 11 million Swedish kronor (approximately $1.1M).
