Recently, Union Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar and other dignitaries joined Governor Shri S. Abdul Nazeer in launching the 19th Divya Kala Mela in Visakhapatnam. The purpose of this event is to empower disabled artists, or "Divyang artisans," and to advance inclusion in society.
Divya Kala Mela: Assistance — Financial, Constuctive; the Plans
- 10 Divyang benefited during the year with concessional loans of ?40 lakh provided by NDFDC for self – employment/business activities.
- More than 100 Divyang artisans from 20 states and Union Territories displayed their products to encourage the government’s “Vocal for Local” campaign.
- The fare is operational on all days from 11am to 9pm and will continue till September,29 at the Marine ground of Andhra university
- Dr. Virendra Kumar and dignitaries highlighted the criticality of inclusion for sustainable economic empowerment of people with disability
- Divya Kala Mela which is celebrated annually, endorses inclusivity and showcases the potential of Divyang artists.
