31st SIMBEX in Visakhapatnam

The 31st Singapore-India Maritime Bilateral Exercise (SIMBEX) is scheduled to take place in Visakhapatnam from October 23 to 29, 2024. On October 23, the Republic of Singapore Navy Ship RSS Tenacious came to take part in this occasion.

SIMBEX 2024 Overview

• Established in 1994 as 'Exercise Lion King'.
• It is another important naval cooperation between Indian Navy & Republic of Singapore Navy.
• Intended to bolster strategic partnership between India and Singapore
• Increase cooperation, interoperability, maritime domain awareness and responses to shared maritime challenges;
• Comprises of two phases, which is Harbour Phase (23-25 October) and Sea Phase (28-29 October).
• Inaugural ceremony on 24 October 2024 at INS Shivalik.
• Fuels maritime peace and stability while being a cornerstone of regional security.
• Subsequent exercises could feature newer technologies and tactics to meet evolving threats on the sea.
