After 130 years, India to host Conference and General Assembly of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), on November 25–30, 2024 The topic of the event, "Cooperatives Build Prosperity for All," is concurrent with Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi's appeal to all the citizens to work on his message of Sahkar se Samriddhi which means prosperity by collaboration. The year will also mark the beginning of the UN International Year of Cooperatives in 2025.

- Haat: Cooperatives to display products in 'Haats'.
- A commemorative stamp will be issued to mark the International Year of Cooperatives.

- Introduction of 54 new projects, pointing to the fact that India termed as the home of one-quarter cooperatives across nations.

- The event will be carbon neutral with a reduction in as well as restoration of associated environmental impact.

- A globally recognized organization representing cooperatives and fostering ideas of self-help, democracy, and equality amongst the members – International Cooperative Alliance (ICA).
