- Established in 1971, made up of 18 Pacific countries including Australia and New Zealand as well as Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Tonga.
- Supports economies, political systems and regional security to common problems.
- Regular annual meetings to deal with major issues which are decided by the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat.
- Get more money for climate change adaptation, because of sea-level rise.
- China and US tension: There are obvious worries held over tensions growing between Australia, the US due to increasing influence over world regions by Chinese enterprises.
