2024 MIDORI Prize Announcement

The MIDORI Prize went to Ysabel Agustina Calderón Carlos of Peru and Vera Voronova of Kazakhstan in 2024 The news came on October 2, 2024 in Montreal Canada. Both were recognized for significant achievements in their sustainability and conservation efforts.

2024 MIDORI Prize Awardees

  • Vera Voronova, Director of the Association for Ecosystem Preservation in Kazakhstan), operates to restore ecosystems and save threatened species.
  • Ysabel Agustina Calderón Carlos, Sumak Kawsay | Peru: Ysabel is the Founder and CEO of sumak kawsay in peru who will be working to conserve pollinators and increase indigenous women & youth livelihood opportunities.
  • The ceremony will be held on 29 October, 2024 in Cali Colombia during the sixteenth meeting of the conference of parties to CBD.
  • The MIDORI Prize: Since its establishment in 2010, the prize has been awarded to a total of 19 individuals from 17 different countries. Previous winners are Dr. Paul Hebert and Melina Sakiyama
