The Royal Navy of Oman and the Indian Navy participated in the significant bilateral naval exercise known as Naseem-Al-Bahr. From October 13 to 18, the drill was conducted off the coast of Goa. In this partnership, India was represented by INS Trikand and a Dornier Maritime Patrol aircraft.
Military Introductory Course for Naval Exercises
- The exercise consisted of two phases; the harbour phase between 13–15 October and sea phase from 16–18 October.
- The harbour stage made up of expert cultural swaps, sporting activities and social relationships for solidarity.
- The sea phase consisted of gun firings on inflatable surface targets, close range anti-aircraft firings, manoeuvrers and RASAPS (Replenishment at Sea Approaches).
- INS Trikand conducted advanced training through its helicopter and successfully executed cross-deck landings on RNOV Al Seeb.
- Dornier Maritime Patrol Aircraft data as OTHT will increased effectiveness in operations.
- A day for interoperability sailed with Navy Sea Riders and RNOV Al Seeb.
- The exercise was successful in improving Interoperability, mutual understanding and cohesiveness between Indian Navy and Royal Navy of Oman.
- The drill, reiterates India's engagement in constructive cooperation and facilitates a common platform for maritime security in the Indian Ocean Region.
