India Appoints Kumar Tuhin as Ambassador to the Netherlands

India now has Kumar Tuhin serving as its ambassador to the Netherlands. This was just revealed by the Ministry of External Affairs, and Tuhin is anticipated to start his new position shortly.

Professional Background, and Career Journey of Tuhin

  • Entered the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) in 1991.
  • At present Director General, Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
  • Held several diplomatic assignments in India and overseas.

Career Journey

  • Began his diplomatic career at India's mission in Hong Kong between 1993 and 1995.
  • Secondary Secretary at the Embassy of India, Beijing from 1995 to 1999.
  • With the Permanent Mission of India to the UN in Geneva from July 1999 until August, 2002.
  • Posted to Hanoi, Vietnam (2005-09) followed by the role of Vice Consul General in San Francisco, USA( 2009-12).
