UP Secures Aviation and Institutional Partnerships in Singapore
The Uttar Pradesh government has secured a major aviation-sector investment with AISATS committing ₹4,458 crore for two large projects at the upcoming Noida International Airport, Jewar. The agreement was finalised during Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s official visit to Singapore, highlighting the State’s push to attract global capital and technology partnerships.
Cargo Campus to Strengthen Logistics
Under the memorandum of understanding, AISATS will establish an integrated cargo campus designed to handle advanced air freight operations. The facility is expected to transform Jewar into a key logistics gateway for north India, supporting export-import flows across high-value sectors such as electronics, pharmaceuticals, and agri-products.
Officials noted that the airport’s planned multi-modal connectivity — linking road, rail, and expressway networks — will enhance cargo efficiency and international trade integration.
World-Class Air Catering Facility
The second component involves setting up a modern air catering kitchen. The unit will supply in-flight meals for flights operating from Jewar and potentially serve other airports across northern India. Beyond aviation services, the project is anticipated to stimulate regional food processing, cold-chain logistics, and allied supply networks.
Both projects are projected to generate significant employment opportunities through direct operations and ancillary industries.
Strategic Institutional Collaboration
Separately, Invest UP signed an MoU with Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE). The partnership focuses on knowledge exchange, technical cooperation, and advisory assistance to strengthen governance systems, policy design, digital transformation, and infrastructure planning.
The framework provides for study visits, leadership delegations, and capacity-building programmes. Detailed project agreements are expected to be initiated within two months and finalised within six months.
