India on Friday successfully carried out a test launch of the Agni-III , further reinforcing the credibility of its strategic deterrence framework. Agni-III Missile: Range and Payload Capabilities

The missile can carry a payload of up to 1,500 kg , making it suitable for strategic roles. Measuring 16.7 metres in length with a 2-metre diameter and a launch weight of around 48,300 kg , Agni-III is designed primarily as a nuclear delivery system, with an estimated warhead yield in the 200–300 kiloton range.

The missile uses a strapdown inertial navigation system integrated with GPS , providing a reported accuracy of about 40 metres circular error probable (CEP) .
