National Affairs

• Mhaje Ghar Yojana was also started in Goa.
  • Union Home Minister Amit Shah introduced the scheme titled Mhaje Ghar in the Goanese Taleigao. The project is going to standardize houses constructed on government and communally owned property and provide rightful ownership to long-term occupants.

• Vande Mataram: 150 Years to be Revered Nationally.
  • The Union Cabinet passed a one-year national celebration to mark 150 years of the legendary national anthem greater Vande Mataram in recognition of its contribution in the freedom movement and the cultural unity.
• Patna Metro Phase-I Opened.
  • The first phase of the Patna Metro Rail Project was opened by the Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar, and it was a significant step towards the development of urban mobility in Bihar and infrastructure.
• Arunachal Pradesh becomes a part of India coal-producing states.
  • Arunachal Pradesh entered the commercial coal production by opening its first coal mine in Namchik-Namphuk in Changlang district with Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy spearheading and CM Pema Khandu present.
• IMC 2025 Inauguration by Prime Minister.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025 in Yashobhoomi, New Delhi with a theme of telecom innovation, 5G/6G and digital technologies.
• President honors NSS Awardees.
  • At Rashtrapati Bhavan, My Bharat -NSS Awards 20223 were given by President Droupadi Murmu to students, institutions, and officers in the field of outstanding voluntary service.

• Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2025
  • To Susumu Kitagawa (Japan), Richard Robson (Australia) and Omar M. Yaghi (USA) in recognition of their work on pioneering research involving Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) in gas storage, catalysis as well as environmental applications.
• Nobel Prize in Physics 2025
  • Recognised John Clarke, Michel H. Devoret and John M. Martinis, who made discoveries on how to observe macroscopic quantum tunnelling and quantisation of energy in electrical circuits.

• Global Energy Brand Value BrandFinance 2025 Report.
  • The overall brand value of the leading energy companies across the world hit USD 688.6 billion, a problem that is still present due to the geopolitical and economic instability present.
• S&P Maintains the Growth Prognosis of India.
  • S&P Global Ratings kept its GDP growth projection of India at 6.5 percent in FY26 based on stable domestic demand facing external head winds.
• India’s Position in Gold ETFs
  • Investments in gold Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) ranks 7th in the world, with India (as of 26 September 2025) investing.
• Russia is remaining the Leading Oil Supplier to India.
  • Russia is the largest crude supplier of India with an insignificant dip in September of 2025 with 34 percent of the total oil imports being made.

• UPI entered PayPal World Platform .
  • According to the PayPal CEO, Alex Chriss, India has been introduced to the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) that is the first payment system to be integrated into PayPal World, thus improving inter-country digital transactions.
• UPI Biometric and wearable authentication .
  • In 2025, NPCI and RBI introduced UPI biometric and smart-glass-based authentication in the Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai.
• SEBI Investor Survey 2025 Released.
  • Kantar was commissioned to conduct the largest household investor survey done with AMFI, NSE, BSE, NSDL, and CDSL in order to measure investment trends and financial behaviour.
• RBI Releases ITBS Survey 2024–25
  • The survey covered 13 Indian banks in the international markets and 44 foreign banks in India with the focus on the international trade services and global banking trends.
• Amendments 2025: SEBI (Custodian) Amendment Regulations.
  • The new regulations improve the governance, compliance, and financial standards of the custodial institutions.
• PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana Milestone .
  • The project attained a significant milestone of the proliferation of rooftop solar and free power supply to households.

• Swiggy sells interest in Rapido .
  • Swiggy has sold the entire 11.8 percent share in bike-taxi start-up Rapido to Prosus NV and WestBridge capital at 2,400 crore.
• VyamIC to Launch Private Satellite Constellation.
  • VyomIC of Chennai announced to put up the first private satellite constellation in India on Precision Navigation and Timing (PNT) services.

• Bitcoin Reaches New All-Time high.
  • On 5 October 2025, Bitcoin reached a new high of $125,245.57, but was above the previous high.
