  • Ravi Naik, the former Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister of Goa died on 15 October 2025 aged 79 after cardiac arrest.
  • He represented MGP, Congress, and BJP in politics, and he had been elected seven times to the MLA with many elective straddles at Ponda and once at Marcaim.
  • Initially elected to the Goa Legislature in 1984 through Ponda (MGP) and once again in 1989 through Marcaim.
  • Lawmaker MLA Ponda (1999), (2002), (2007), (2017) (Congress) and (2022) (BJP).
  • Elected to the Lok Sabha in 1998 in North Goa as a congress MP.

Twice Chief Minister of Goa:

  • First Term: January 1991 -May 1993 (Progressive Democratic Front Government)
  • Second Term: April 2-8, 1994 -In Goan history, the CM had the shortest tenure of his life (6 days)
  • Ravi Naik has had a long and productive political career in both the state and national politics in Goa.
