The Tamil Nadu Government has informed the Madras High Court that illegal resorts operating within the eco-sensitive zone of the Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve have been sealed. This step aims to strengthen conservation efforts and safeguard fragile wildlife habitats.

Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve is situated at the junction of the Eastern and Western Ghats in Tamil Nadu and forms part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. It functions as a critical wildlife corridor connecting major protected areas such as Mudumalai, Bandipur, and BRT Tiger Reserves, enabling genetic exchange among species like tigers and elephants.
