Special Forces Drill- Exercise Cyclone India Egypt Strategic Defence Ties.

Overview

The Indian Army is also sending a contingent to Egypt to the fourth edition of the Exercise Cyclone which is a joint special forces exercise between India and Egypt. The exercise, which is scheduled in Anshas, Egypt, indicates the strengthening of the defence ties and strategy between the two countries.


About Exercise Cyclone

Exercise Cyclone An annual bilateral military exercise, that is held in India and Egypt alternately. The 2026 version is its fourth edition and it is specifically concerned with special forces operation. It emphasizes the growing applicability of orchestrated elite troop involvement in contemporary war situations.


Training Participation and Scope.

The Indian contingent consists of 25 members who are selected as representatives of specialisation units of the Indian Army. They will be trained together with Egyptians special forces in real life conditions. The training will involve intense desert and semi desert exercises which are strategically important to both nations.

The main goal of the exercise is to improve the level of interoperability and joint operational capabilities between the two forces.
