The death toll of people in this age group topped 16,443 in 2022 alone, although the real mortality rate could have been overestimated by 20 percent, because of regions that are underreported.
It is estimated that with 198,236 lost lives, an average of 133 children and adolescents die in road crashes in-between 2011 and 2022.

SARAT Version 2
- The ministry of Earth Sciences has released the newer version 2 of Search and Rescue Aid Tool (SARAT).

Top 50 top tourist areas -Challenge Mode
- The Union Budget has also allotted, the development of the top 50 tourist destinations in the country in coordination with State governments in a mode of challenge.
- The States will also undertake the role of availing land in meeting the key developments of infrastructures.
- These destinations will have hotels incorporated to the Harmonised Master List (HML) of infrastructure projects.
- The country will also ease the e-visa infrastructure and offer visa fee exemptions to certain groups of tourists in order to welcome the international travelers in the country.
- Of particular interest will be the destinations concerning life and time of Lord Buddha.
DDP 2024 Domestic Defense Production
- Significant rise has been observed in the defence budget of the country which had been at 2,53,346 crore in 2013-14 and is now increased to 6,21,940.85 crore in 2024-25.
- Domestically produced defence products in India in FY 2023-24 were 1.27 lakh crore and was the highest.
- This is by nearly 174 percent change of 46429 crore in 2014-15.
- India has made a track record on realising a target of 1.75 lakh crore in the current fiscal year defence production.
- The long-term goal of India is to achieve 3 lakh crore production of defence by 2029 and continue to position itself as a major global defence manufacturing base.
- With the growth of the defence export by India, the harshly swelled from 1941 crore in Financial Year (FY) 2014-15 to 21083 crore in FY 2023-24.
- Defence exports registered an increase of 32.5 per cent as compared to last fiscal year 2022-23 which was recorded at 15,920 crore.
- In 2023-24 India sold its products to USA number one, followed by France and then Armenia as the main destinations of its defence exports.
South Coast Railway Zone
- The ex post facto of the decision to form new South Coast Railway Zone was approved by the Union Cabinet.
- The Prime Minister laid foundation of the headquarters of the South Coast Railway at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
- The SCoR zone shall be the 18 th zone of the Indian Railways.
- It carves out its jurisdiction of routes within East Coast Railway and South-Central Railway zones.
- It will take up a large part of Andhra Pradesh, the regions of Telangana and Tamil Nadu as well.
- Waltair Railway Division (previously called East Coast Railway) was split up into two as well by the Cabinet.
- The government has renamed the first part as Visakhapatnam Railway Division and placed it under the new zone citing its colonial era name.
- The other side will also be under the East Coast Railway and will be transformed to a new district with headquarters at Rayagada, Odisha.
- In the Financial Year 2023- 24, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has broken all the records of Indian Railways and created history in Freight Loading.
- Between April 1, 2023, and March 25, 2024, ECoR loaded 250 million tons of freight that outstripped the previous record when it loaded 245 million tons during the 2022-23 financial.
Shatavari works to lead to better health
In order to create awareness on health benefits of medicinal plants, a species-specific campaign, which refers to asa species, was developed under the title Shatavari-For Better Health.
The old awareness campaigns that NMPB successfully implemented include Amla, Moringa, Giloe and Ashwagandha.
