- Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises introduced the Trade Enablement and Marketing (TEAM) Initiative.
- It has been initiated through the Programme - "Raising and Accelerating MSME Productivity (RAMP)".
- It is targeted at allowing MSMEs to adopt digital trade, and drive expanded market.
- The World Bank promoted Central Sector Scheme called RAMP is operational during the period 2022-23 to 2026-27.
PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana
- The 2025 Budget declared the opening of the PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, an initiative by which 1.7 crore farmers in the nation will be benefited.
- The scheme will improve the agricultural productivity, improve diversification of crops, improve the post-harvest storage both at panchayats and block levels.
- It will also enhance irrigation facilities, and availability of both short and long term credit to the farmers.
- Additionally, a Makhana Board also established in Bihar to support farmers in the region.
Jal Jeevan mission extension
- The Budget speech of 2025-26 has proposed extending the Jal Jeevan Mission till the year 2028 with an increased amount of total outlay.
- In 2019 alone, 150 million households access potable tap water connections, and this is 80 per cent of the rural population in India.
- The Jal Jeevan Mission is projected to be extended till 2028 to reach the 100 per cent coverage point.
- The estimated expenditure amount of 2024-25 was roughly Rs 70,163 crore.
- This year, the expenditure is Rs 67,000 crore compared to an outlay of Rs 3,163 crore less than last years outlay.
- In August 2019, the Jal Jeevan Mission was launched with the ambitious target of giving all rural households tap water by 2024
Gender Budget 2025-26
- The proportion of Gender Budget included of total Union Budget has gone up to 8.86 per cent in FY 2025-26 as compared to 6.8 per cent in FY 2024-25.
- The gender budget statement 2025-26 under the women and girl welfare has been allocated Rs. 4.49 lakh crore.
- It is a rise of 37.25 per cent of the Rs. 3.27 lakh crore GBS allocation in 2024-25.
- In part A (100 percent women-specific schemes), 1,05,535.40 crore (23.50 percent of total GBS) was allocated.
- Part B (allocation between 30 to 99 percent of money to women) had 3,26,672.00 crore (72.75 percent of total GBS).
- Part C (Less than 30 percent of women allocation) was allocated 16, 821.28 crore (3.75 percent of the total GBS).
- There have also been allocations of 49 Ministries/ Departments and 5 UTs this year as compared to 38 Ministries/ Departments and 5 UTs in FY 2024-25.
- Top 3 Ministries/Departments who too have reported over 30 percent of their allocations under the Gender Budget of FY 2025-26 are
- Ministry of Women & Child Development (81.79).
- Department of Rural Development (65.76 percent).
- Department of Food & Public Distribution (50.92 %).
- PMAY-G dismal implementing - only 23 percent of the houses women got allotted.
SC/ST Act- intellectual property
- The Supreme Court confirm the judgment of the Bombay High Court on the intellectual property loss compensation under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 and its rules of the year 1995.
- Petitioners went to Bombay High Court in the form of a petition to give fair evaluation of the compensation to be paid under Section 15A (11) (d) of the Atrocities Act (read with Rule 12(1) of the 1995 Rules) after harming the property.
- Bombay High Court held the word property must be understood widely in such a way that it also seized intellectual property which may consist of data, electronic material and intellectual rights, tangible or otherwise.
- Although intangible in nature, Patents, copyrights, and designs, form part of the property, and can be valued in order to be compensated under SC/ST Act, 1989.
- It is important to note that Section 8 introduces a reverse burden of proof making the accused shoulders the burden to prove their innocence.
GARBH-INi-Drishti
- The IIT Madras and Translational Health Science and Technology Institute; Faridabad, have partnered to train an Indian specific model of artificial intelligence; Garbhini-GA2.
- It is a data dashboard which gives an in-depth multidimensional picture of one of the largest pregnancy cohort data in South Asia.
- GARBH-Ini GA-2 is genetic algorithm based.
- This is an evolution and natural selection based genetic algorithm which is an optimisation technique.
- The project is under the GARBH-Ini programme and it aims at correcting the dire lack of accuracy in antenatal care.
Increase in Female Labour Participation 2024
- Female Labour Force Participation Rate (FLFPR) had been increasing steadily within the last seven years.
- It was observed that the FLFPR of the last seven years, ie, 23.3 percent in 2017-18 had grown to 41.7 percent in 2023-24.
- The women performed a greater role in economic activities in both rural and urban.
- Presently 21 States have a FLFPR of 30-40%.
- A total of seven States or Union Territories with FLFPR above 40 percent; the highest being that of Sikkim which has FLFPR of 56.9 percent.
- Whereas, in 2017-18, 20 States/UTs had a FLFPR less than 20 per cent, in 2023-24 it includes three states.
