Government Introduces PRARAMBH to Simplify Income Tax Act 2025
The Ministry of Finance has launched PRARAMBH 2026 , a nationwide awareness campaign to familiarise citizens with the provisions of the Income Tax Act, 2025. The initiative precedes the Act’s rollout from April 1, 2026, aiming to ensure smooth implementation through informed public participation.
Objective and Vision of PRARAMBH
PRARAMBH (Policy Reform and Responsible Action for Mission Viksit Bharat) focuses on improving taxpayer awareness and encouraging voluntary compliance. It supports the government’s goal of building a transparent, efficient, and citizen-centric taxation system by reducing information asymmetry and simplifying tax understanding.
Multi-Channel Outreach Strategy
The campaign uses an integrated communication approach, including print media, television, radio, outdoor publicity, digital platforms, and social media. This ensures outreach across diverse demographics, covering both urban and rural populations, and enhancing nationwide engagement.
Key Features and Digital Innovations
PRARAMBH 2026 provides comprehensive taxpayer resources such as guidance notes, brochures, FAQs, tutorial videos, and educational materials. Public engagement initiatives like MyGov quizzes aim to boost awareness. A major feature is the AI-powered chatbot Kar Saathi, offering real-time assistance for tax-related queries. Additionally, the upgraded Income Tax Website 2.0 enhances user experience and service efficiency.
Multilingual Accessibility and Public Engagement
To ensure inclusivity, campaign materials have been released in 10 regional languages along with English and Hindi. This multilingual approach broadens accessibility and enables better understanding among diverse linguistic groups, supporting seamless adoption of the new tax regime.
