The support of electric two-wheelers will last until July 31, 2026, and the subsidies of electric rickshaws and carts will last until March 31, 2028. Introduction to PM E-DRIVE Scheme.

PM E-DRIVE (Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement) was launched in October 2024. The plan is aimed at making more electric vehicles, establishing charging stations and promoting local production. The plan will accelerate the transition of petrol and diesel cars to electric cars. It offers financial incentive on electric two wheelers, three wheelers, buses, trucks and even e-ambulances. Application and Organizational Establishment.

The Project Implementation and Sanctioning Committee (p.i.s.c.) headed by the Secretary of the Ministry of Heavy Industries runs the scheme. This body checks on the progress and smooth implementation. States also welcome using EVs by providing incentives such as tax exemption, reduced tolls and parking subsidies.
