The Indian Navy has launched the second edition of the Indian Ocean Ship (IOS) SAGAR initiative on 16 March 2026, reaffirming India’s commitment to maritime cooperation in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). The initiative gains added significance as India assumes the chairmanship of the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium, with participation from 16 member nations.
