India to Host Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi on May 26

Along with the Quad meeting, India will hold separate bilateral meetings. S. Jaishankar will meet each foreign minister one-on-one. These meetings will focus on issues specific to each country. For example, India and Australia may talk about trade and education. India and Japan may discuss the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train. India and the US may talk about defence and technology sharing. These bilateral talks are as important as the Quad meeting itself.

Previous Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting

The last Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting was held in Washington, D.C., on 1 July 2025. That was the first in-person meeting after the COVID period. The New Delhi meeting is the first Quad foreign ministers’ gathering on Indian soil since 2023. In 2023, the Quad leaders’ summit was held in Hiroshima, Japan. The foreign ministers’ meeting in Delhi shows the continuity of high-level engagement.

A Human Touch: Why Quad Matters for Ordinary People

The Quad may sound like high diplomacy. But it affects ordinary people too. Resilient supply chains mean your medicines and electronics arrive on time. Maritime security means the goods you buy from other countries are not blocked. Climate action means cleaner air and better disaster warnings. Technology cooperation means faster internet and better phones. So the ministers sitting in a room in Delhi are working on things that touch your daily life.
