Kalari Leap Strengthens Integrated Island Defence in Arabian Sea

The Southern Air Command (SAC) of the Indian Air Force successfully carried out a high-intensity joint maritime exercise titled ‘Kalari Leap’ across the Lakshadweep and Minicoy archipelago in the Arabian Sea. The drill was designed to validate rapid force projection, joint operational planning and precision engagement in complex island and maritime environments.

The exercise reflects India’s increasing focus on integrated island defence and enhanced maritime domain awareness in strategically vital waters.

Kalari Leap featured coordinated participation from the Indian Air Force, the Armed Forces Special Operations Division and the Indian Coast Guard . The objective was to test interoperability across air, maritime and special operations units under realistic operational conditions.
