TRIFED Organises Bharat Tribes Fest to Promote Tribal Art and Livelihoods
The Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India , in partnership with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, is hosting Bharat Tribes Fest 2026 from 18 to 30 March at Sunder Nursery . The festival celebrates the cultural richness, craftsmanship and entrepreneurial potential of tribal communities across the country.
Showcasing Tribal Art, Craft and Cuisine
Bharat Tribes Fest 2026 features more than 200 curated stalls representing 78 Van Dhan Vikas Kendra units and over 300 artisans.
Visitors can explore traditional handicrafts, handlooms and authentic tribal products while interacting directly with artisans. This engagement helps promote cultural exchange and improves market access for tribal communities.
Forest-to-Plate and Cultural Performances
A major attraction is the “Forest-to-Plate” segment, where around 120 participants present indigenous tribal cuisines. The event also includes live demonstrations of traditional craft techniques, offering insight into age-old practices.
Cultural evenings feature performances by more than 400 tribal artists, showcasing music, dance and folklore from different regions, creating a vibrant cultural atmosphere.
Bharat Tribes Business Conclave
The Business Conclave, held between 19 and 27 March, brings together policymakers, industry representatives and tribal entrepreneurs. Discussions focus on sustainable textiles, ethical markets, tribal food systems and innovation.
The platform also promotes skill development and entrepreneurship, particularly for tribal youth and women, while emphasising the protection of indigenous knowledge systems.
RISA Initiative and Industry Collaboration
The festival highlights the RISA initiative, which connects designers with tribal artisans to modernise traditional textiles such as Eri silk, Kotpad cotton and Dongria embroidery.
A dedicated CSR Conclave aims to build partnerships between corporate organisations and tribal enterprises, encouraging sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
