Overview

The GRAPES-3 telescope in Ooty, India, is a powerful cosmic ray observatory. It studies the origin and propagation of cosmic rays and monitors solar and thunderstorm activity. Recently, researchers used it to track how Earth's upper atmosphere and the Sun's magnetic field affect muons, offering new insights into space weather.

A rare knob-billed duck was recorded for the first time at Pong Lake Wildlife Sanctuary in Himachal Pradesh. This species, usually found in Central India, was spotted by birdwatchers. The male duck is known for the leaf-shaped knob on its bill. The species is classified as Least Concern under the IUCN Red List.

The Maharashtra Krishna Valley Development Corporation has issued a Letter of Award to Patel Engineering Ltd for the Tasgaon Lift Irrigation Scheme in Satara district.
