Hitesh Joshi Appointed Chairman and Managing Director of GIC Re

Overview

he Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has appointed Hitesh Joshi as the Chairman and Managing Director of the General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC Re). He had been serving as the acting CMD since October 2025 after the retirement of his predecessor, N. Ramaswamy. His appointment was approved on 12 June 2026.

HYDRAA Begins Development of Ramanthapur Lake: 30-Acre Water Body to Be Restored

Overview

The Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has launched the development of Ramanthapur Pedda Cheruvu under the second phase of lake development. The lake's original extent is 30 acres, of which 16 acres were under encroachment. Temporary structures have been removed, and 36 hut dwellers will receive double-bedroom houses.

Telegram Moves Delhi High Court Against Centre Ban Ahead of NEET-UG Re-Test

Uttar Pradesh Schools Shine in Swachh Evam Harit Vidyalaya Rating 2025-26

Kishau Dam Project: ₹2,000 Crore Breakthrough Ends Eight-Year Deadlock

Overview

The eight-year deadlock on the Kishau Dam project has ended after the Centre and beneficiary states agreed to cover the ₹2,000 crore power component cost. The multipurpose dam on the Tons river will generate 660 MW of hydropower, irrigate 97,000 hectares, and supply water to Delhi, Rajasthan, and Haryana.
