In a significant change in its climate policy, India has allegedly pulled out its offer to host the 33rd Conference of Parties (COP33) in 2028. Previously, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that India would host the summit at COP28 in Dubai in 2023. Although there is no official announcement, confirmation of the decision is through official communication to the UN climate body.

IIM Rohtak was the winner in Dialogue 6.0, a national level debate competition organized by Hermes held in Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH). Deep Jariwala, an Indian-origin scientist has been appointed to the highly sought-after UT-ORNL Governor Chair of Quantum Devices in America. He is now a professor at the University of Pennsylvania and will officially assume the chair in January 2027. This appointment is a joint appointment with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and Oak Ridge National Laboratory making him at the cross-road between academic and national level research.

Missile Activities.

North Korea has argued that the recent missile tests were based on hi-tech weapons such as ballistic missiles which contained cluster-bomb warheads. The development was announced through the Korean Central News Agency, on April 9, 2026, after several launches were detected by South Korea, which indicated further military development at a time when regional tensions were rising.
