Constitutional Challenge to Citizenship Amendment Act Returns to Supreme Court

The petitions challenge the constitutional validity of the legislation enacted by Parliament in December 2019. The matter was last taken up in March 2024 and includes pleas filed from multiple states, with specific concerns raised by petitioners from Assam and Tripura.
