Short Information The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has issued the official notification for the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026. This exam is conducted to determine eligibility for teaching positions at the primary (Class 1–5) and upper primary (Class 6–8) levels in Uttar Pradesh. The online application process will begin on 27 March 2026 and remain open until 26 April 2026. The written examination is scheduled to be held on 02, 03, and 04 July 2026.

Education Details

Primary Level (Class 1–5)

Candidates must fulfill any one of the following:

  • Graduation in any discipline + D.El.Ed (final year or passed)

  • Graduation with at least 50% marks or Post Graduation + B.Ed

  • Graduation with 45% marks + B.Ed (as per NCTE guidelines)

  • 10+2 with minimum 50% marks + 4-year B.El.Ed

 

Upper Primary Level (Class 6–8)

 

Candidates must meet one of the following conditions:

  • Graduation/Post Graduation (50% marks) + B.Ed / B.Ed (Special Education)

  • Graduation/Post Graduation + 2-year D.El.Ed (BTC)

  • 10+2 with 50% marks + 4-year B.El.Ed

  • 10+2 with 50% marks + B.Sc.Ed

  • Graduation with 45% marks + B.Ed (as per NCTE norms)

Final-year candidates of teacher training programs are also eligible.
