A constitutional Presidential reference has recently been filed in May 2025 in the Supreme Court of India. The reference aims to gain a clear picture on the 14 questions which are about who can wield power on the Governors and the President through Articles 200 and 201 of the Constitution. This is after the historic decision of the Court in May 2025 in the case State of Tamil Nadu vs. Governor of Tamil Nadu that provided schedules in which Governors had to take action against the State Bills and the leaders of the Government to take action to end the delays, and delays were judicially checked.

According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), 474 Registered Unrecognised Political Parties (RUPPs) have been dropped due to not having contested an election in the last 6 years. This step is contained in a bigger initiative of sweeping the electoral process to leave in the system only active and compliant parties. By this move, the 808 who have been removed among the RUPPs alone in the last two months leaves 2,046 of these parties still on record.

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) commissioned the most recently built ship, ICGS Adamya, on 19 September 2025 at Paradip Port, Odisha, and was an indigenous project. Since its introduction to eliminate the sluggish and discrepant legacy processes, SPARSH has become the largest digital pension platform in the world to serve defence personnel. It has also been able to onboard more than 31.5 lakh pensioners in India and Nepal by 2025, which guarantees efficiency, transparency and timely payment of pensions.
