2. Who launched the SUMAN Roadmap 2030?

Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda launched it on June 29, 2026, at the 16th Conference of the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare in New Delhi.

3. What are the main goals of this roadmap?

The roadmap wants zero maternal deaths, zero infant deaths, universal antenatal care, institutional deliveries, and full immunisation. It targets reducing the Maternal Mortality Ratio below 70 per 100,000 live births.

The roadmap covers 13 high-focus states: Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal.

5. What role do ASHA workers play in this plan?

ASHA workers will conduct bi-weekly home visits during the eighth and ninth months of pregnancy. They will monitor pregnant women, spot problems early, and arrange medical help when needed.
