Major Developments on 7 November 2025

1. Launch of the Varanasi–Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express

• On 7 November, Narendra Modi is scheduled to flag off the new high-speed train service between Varanasi and Khajuraho. The service aims to cover the 443 km stretch in about 7 hours 40 minutes, enhancing connectivity to several heritage and tourist sites. 

• The first phase of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 is underway today across 121 constituencies in 18 districts, with 1,314 candidates in the fray.

• The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP), Prayagraj, has officially announced the schedule for the High School (Class 10) and Intermediate (Class 12) board examinations for the academic year 2026.

• The Election Commission of India (ECI) has launched the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls across 12 states and Union Territories, including West Bengal, starting November 4, 2025. This exercise aims to update voter records ahead of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly Elections, ensuring the “purity” and accuracy of electoral rolls.

• The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important clarification regarding the JEE Main 2026 exam, confirming that no form of calculator—physical or virtual—will be allowed during the test.
