Government to Launch Prashast 2.0 for Early Disability Detection in Schools

A Major Step for Inclusive Education

The Government of India is set to launch Prashast 2.0 , an upgraded digital platform for identifying disabilities in children. The app is designed to detect 21 types of disabilities and support Children With Special Needs (CWSN) .The aim is clear. Detect early, support quickly, and ensure every child gets equal access to education.

Early Identification at School Level

The app will be used in schools by teachers, principals, and special educators.

  • Teachers will observe learning, behaviour, and social patterns

  • Possible disabilities will be identified at an early stage

  • Early action will improve learning outcomes

Early screening helps children get support before challenges become severe.

Faster and Simpler Certification

Prashast 2.0 will make the disability certification process simple and quick.

  • Schools can flag cases directly

  • Students can be linked to experts faster

  • Families can access benefits without delays

This reduces paperwork and saves time for both schools and parents.

Integration with Samagra Shiksha

The platform is linked with the Samagra Shiksha scheme.

This ensures that identified children receive:

  • Learning aids and assistive devices

  • Therapy and rehabilitation support

  • Special teaching and classroom assistance

The goal is full inclusion in mainstream education.

Testing and Training in Progress

Before launch, the app is undergoing testing across states.

Participants include:

  • Teachers and special educators

  • Officials from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and New Delhi

  • Members of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan

Training is being provided so that users can apply the system correctly.
